Eric Woerth est un homme politique français plusieurs fois appelé à occuper les fonctions de ministre sous la présidence de Jacques Chirac puis de Nicolas Sarkozy. Secrétaire d’Etat à la Réforme de l’Etat dans le gouvernement de Jean-Pierre Raffarin de mars 2004 à mai 2005, puis ministre du Budget, des Comptes publics, de la Fonction publique et de la Réforme de l’Etat, ainsi que ministre du Travail, de la Solidarité et de la Fonction publique dans les gouvernements de François Fillon entre mai 2007 et novembre 2010, il a notamment conduit la Révision générale des politiques publiques (RGPP), la réforme des retraites de 2010 et renforcé la lutte contre la fraude fiscale.
Elu député depuis 2002, Eric Woerth est aujourd’hui membre de la commission des finances, de l’économie générale et du contrôle budgétaire de l’Assemblée nationale. Il est également membre de la mission d’évaluation et de contrôle ainsi que de la commission spéciale chargée d’examiner le projet de loi organique relatif à la programmation et à la gouvernance des finances publiques. Dans le cadre de ses fonctions, il est rapporteur spécial du budget Tourisme au sein de la commission des finances et se voit régulièrement confier des travaux parlementaires sur les problématiques liées à l’optimisation fiscale et la lutte contre les fraudes et les trafics. Eric Woerth est aussi vice-président du groupe d’amitié France-Inde.
Depuis 1995, Eric Woerth est maire de la ville de Chantilly et président de la Communauté de Communes de l’Aire Cantilienne.
