Chez les Peyron, la passion pour la voile est inscrite dans le caryotype familial. C’est sur les eaux ligériennes du Pouliguen que Loïck Peyron et ses deux frères, Bruno et Stéphane, initiés par leur père, ont tiré leurs premiers bords. En 1972, son oncle Jean-Yves Terlain l’emmène assister à la mise à l’eau de Vendredi-13, à la barre duquel il participera à la Transat Anglaise. Impressionné, l’enfant de douze ans que certains surnomment aujourd’hui « le dernier des mohicans », songe déjà à endosser le ciré de navigateur professionnel. A partir de ce moment, le jeune homme s’adonne à la vitesse sur mer et transforme sa pratique de la voile en une quête permanente de performance.
C’est décidé, Loïck Peyron deviendra coureur des océans. A l’âge de 18 ans, il réalise sa première traversée de l’Atlantique.
Dans les années 1990, à la barre du trimaran Fujicolor, il remporte de nombreuses courses et ne s’adjuge pas moins de quatre titres de Champion Orma* en 1996, 1997, 1999 et 2002. Loïck Peyron n’a alors de cesse de naviguer, toujours en multipliant les expériences sur différents supports. Aucun modèle de bateau à voile ne lui échappe et au fil des années, l’homme se forge un palmarès formidable dans les courses transocéaniques. Il remporte notamment trois fois la Transat Anglaise, (course en solitaire), participe à trois tours du monde, traverse 42 fois l’Atlantique, dont 15 en solitaire.
Doté d’un palmarès exceptionnel, Loïck Peyron possède également un don de communiquant hors pair, toujours enclin à partager sa passion pour la voile. Officier de la Légion d’honneur, il est, au-delà d’un marin d’exception, un conseiller de choix dans le domaine de la construction navale, dans la lignée de grands noms tels qu’Eric Tabarly.
