Né à Glasgow d’une famille d’immigrés pakistanais, Humza Yousaf a étudié les sciences politiques à l’université de Glasgow avant de se lancer dans une carrière politique. Au cours des douze années qu’il a passées au gouvernement, Humza a occupé plusieurs fonctions ministérielles, notamment celles de ministre des Affaires étrangères, ministre des transports, secrétaire d’État à la justice et secrétaire d’État à la santé et aux aides sociales.
