Née à Sèvres en 1981, Hapsatou Sy grandit entourée de ses sept frères et soeurs. « Mon père, ce héros » dira-t-elle souvent de ce père ouvrier qui lui transmettra la passion du travail et ce besoin vital d’autonomie et d’indépendance.
Hapsatou développe dès 2004 ETHNICIA, son concept « d’espaces de beauté globale et sur-mesure ». « En visant les étoiles je suis certaine d’atteindre au moins la Lune ».
Le premier salon ouvre ses portes sur l’île Saint-Louis, bientôt suivi de nombreuses autres ouvertures à Paris, en province, et même en Suisse à Lausanne.
En tout, ce sont dix-sept espaces qui verront le jour sur l’ensemble du territoire et qui prendront définitivement son nom en 2012 : HapsatouSy.
Hapsatou Sy est nommée en 2010 au « Rising talents » du Women’s forum de Deauville et remporte en 2011 le Prix Trofémina catégorie Business. La même année, elle est sélectionnée pour représenter l’entrepreneuriat français au G20. 2012 est aussi l’année qui lui ouvre les portes des plateaux télévisés puisqu’elle devient membre du jury de l’émission « L’inventeur 2012 » sur M6 et est recrutée par le groupe D8 pour co-animer l’émission « Le Grand 8 » aux côtés de Laurence Ferrari, Roselyne Bachelot, Audrey Pulvar et Elisabeth Bost.
