Biographie

Senior Fellow au Johns Hopkins SAIS Foreign Policy Institute, il est le co-directeur de l’emerge85 Lab basé aux Émirats arabes unis, une initiative conjointe du FPI et du Delma Institute. Ce laboratoire dédié à la multiplicité géoéconomique, explore l’impact de l’émergence ou de la réémergence d’acteurs économiques mondiaux « non occidentaux », en adoptant une approche holistique des tendances géoéconomiques et de leur impact.

Afshin Molavi rédige ses travaux sur les marchés émergents, en particulier sur des thèmes liés à la « nouvelle route de la soie », aux échanges commerciaux Sud-Sud, aux mégalopoles, aux multinationales situées sur les marchés émergents, au secteur mondial de l’aviation, à la géopolitique de l’énergie et à l’intersection entre les États du Moyen-Orient et l’économie mondiale.

Il est également chercheur à la New America Foundation, un think tank indépendant, et l’ancien directeur de la World Economic Roundtable, une initiative unique visant à redéfinir l’économie mondiale à la suite de la Grande Récession.
