Avant de fonder Gravity, Richard Browning a été réserviste au sein des Royal Marines pendant six ans et négociant en pétrole chez BP pendant 16 ans. Il a développé des activités commerciales dans de nombreux pays, notamment en Azerbaïdjan, au Mozambique et en Russie, et a noué des relations commerciales avec de nombreux autres pays.
Richard Browning a découvert et implémenté des nouvelles technologies majeures chez BP, notamment en transformant une plateforme révolutionnaire dédiée à l’analyse des flux commerciaux (localisation des navires), toujours présente au cœur du secteur des marchandises à l’échelle mondiale.
La plateforme a remporté le prix de l’innovation du groupe BP et a généré plus de 50 millions de dollars en 3 mois. Richard Browning a également été un acteur clé et un investisseur dans plusieurs projets à succès de création d’entreprises en externe. Ses domaines de prédilection sont les sciences, la technologie, l’ingénierie et les mathématiques (STEM).
