Elle est également la fondatrice et la directrice exécutive de la fondation « We the Change », une organisation qui offre une éducation, des soins et un soutien aux enfants et aux familles d’enfants qui souffrent ou ont souffert d’expériences difficiles.
Soiya a travaillé en tant qu’avocate au Royaume-Uni, spécialisée en droit des organismes caritatifs pour Bates Wells et Braithwaite et en tant qu’avocate spécialisée en droit des sociétés pour Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Soiya Gecaga a également travaillé pour le Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies aux droits de l’homme (HCDH) à Genève, pour Nyumbani, un orphelinat pour enfants atteints du sida au Kenya, et pour l’association de Mère Teresa à Calcutta venant au secours des plus démunis. Soiya Gecaga est née et vit au Kenya. Elle est diplômée de la Philips Academy à Andover (Massachusetts) et détient un Master en histoire moderne de l’Université de St. Andrews (Écosse).
