Christophe Galfard est un physicien de renom, spécialisé en physique théorique.
Il a obtenu son doctorat à l’université de Cambridge, sous la direction de Stephen Hawking, le célèbre physicien et théoricien britannique.
Christophe Galfard a pour volonté de rendre la science accessible à tous, que ce soit à travers ses livres ou les nombreuses conférences qu’il anime sur les mystères de la science. Il a collaboré avec Stephen et Lucy Hawking autour d’un roman pour enfants, « Georges et les secrets de l’univers », présentant la science de manière ludique.
Il a également publié « L’univers à portée de main » en 2015 et « E = mc2 : l’équation de tous les possibles » en 2017.
Christophe Galfard est diplômé de l’École Centrale Paris en physique théorique.
Il intègre l’université de Cambridge peu de temps après, où il réalise son doctorat pendant 6 ans sous la direction du génie de l’astrophysique, Stephen Hawking. Ils ont travaillé ensemble sur la formation des trous noirs et sur l’origine de l’Univers.
Son doctorat en physique théorique en poche, Christophe Galfard s’est consacré à la vulgarisation de la science, telle qu’elle est comprise par les scientifiques aujourd’hui à travers leurs découvertes. Il poursuit son objectif en participant à de nombreuses conférences à travers le monde, afin de répondre aux questions du public sur l’Univers, le Big Bang, l’existence des trous noirs, les extra-terrestres ou encore les mondes parallèles, mais toujours de façon ludique et divertissante.
L’ancien étudiant de Stephen Hawking a récemment animé une série de dix conférences au MK2 à Paris pour décrypter les dernières découvertes scientifiques, intitulée « Venez parcourir l’univers avec Christophe Galfard ».
En parallèle, il a participé à plusieurs TEDx où il traite de galaxies, d’ordinateur quantique et d’univers parallèles. Christophe Galfard anime régulièrement des chroniques radio sur France Inter : « L’univers à portée de main » et « L’univers en trois minutes ».
Il a effectué de nombreux passages à la télévision française : « À la recherche de la vie extra-terrestre » sur BFMTV ; « L’homme qui décortique les mystères de l’univers » dans le magazine « C à vous », le JT de 13h sur France 2, ou encore une interview dans l’émission « Comment ça va bien » animée par Stéphane Bern.
À ce jour, il a publié 4 livres à succès destinés aux enfants.
