Jeroen van der Veer est le président du conseil de surveillance de Boskalis. Il est actuellement vice-président du conseil de surveillance d’Equinor ASA (Norvège).
Il a été le directeur non exécutif de Shell de 2009 à 2013, après avoir été le PDG de 2004 à 2009. Auparavant, il a été le président de la Royal Dutch Petroleum Company depuis 2000, après avoir été directeur général depuis 1997. En tant que PDG, il a conduit Shell à travers des changements majeurs.
De 2009 à 2010, Jeroen van der Veer a été le vice-président d’un cabinet d’experts en charge de conseiller un nouveau concept stratégique à destination de l’OTAN. Il a été le président de la Société internationale de l’industrie chimique de 2002 à 2004. De 2000 à 2004, il a été membre du conseil de surveillance de la Banque centrale néerlandaise. Il a été le conseiller principal de l’Oman depuis 2009. Il a présidé la « Platform Beta Techniek », un institut gouvernemental dédié à la promotion de l’éducation en science et technologie de 2009 à 2019. Il a également présidé la communauté des leaders du Forum économique mondial de 2017 à 2020.
