Lars-Johan Jarnheimer a pris la direction du groupe IKEA en janvier 2015. Il est l’ancien président et PDG de Tele2 AB, un opérateur de télécommunications européen majeur, avec environ 14 millions de clients dans 9 pays.
Les missions de leadership de Lars-Johan Jarnheimer ont débuté en 1991, lorsqu’il a rejoint le groupe Kinnevik, une société d’investissement détenant des parts dans environ 30 sociétés opérant dans plus de 80 pays sur les cinq continents, et tout particulièrement sur les marchés en forte croissance : Zalando, Millicom, Tele2, Rocket Internet, Global Fashion Group et MTG. Lars-Johan Jarnheimer a été recruté comme directeur général de Z-TV, une chaîne suédoise par satellite diffusant des vidéoclips. Sa carrière au sein du groupe Kinnevik s’est par la suite accélérée et il a pris la direction générale de la société de télécommunications Comviq GSM AB. Après la fusion de Comviq avec Tele2, il a rejoint l’entreprise SAAB Automobile, en tant que responsable des marchés scandinaves, russes et des pays baltes.
En 1998, Lars-Johan Jarnheimer est retourné chez Kinnevik Group en tant que vice-Président exécutif, en charge du développement de la société de service client Transcom, ainsi que de Collect AB, une société dédiée à la fidélisation client. Il a occupé le poste de président et PDG de Tele2 AB de 1999 à 2008.
Il est actuellement président des sociétés INGKA Holding B.V (IKEA), Telia Company AB, Arvid Nordquist Handelsaktiebolag, The Polar Music Prize, Egmont international Holding A/S et vice-président du conseil d’administration de SAS AB.
Lars-Johan Jarnheimer a été auparavant président de BRIS, une organisation suédoise dédiée à la défense des droits des enfants.
