Michel Prada est le président du conseil de normalisation des comptes publics français et l’ancien président du « International Valuation Standards Council ».
Michel Prada prend sa retraite de la présidence de l’Autorité des Marchés Financiers en 2008 et est ensuite nommé membre du Groupe consultatif sur la crise financière fixée par le Conseil des normes comptables internationales et le Financial Accounting Standards Board des États-Unis afin d’examiner les questions d’information financière découlant de la crise financière mondiale.
Ancien inspecteur des finances, Michel Prada sert par la suite comme directeur du budget au ministère de l’Economie (1985), inspecteur général des finances (1987 2002-2003 ), président du Crédit d’équipement des petites et moyennes entreprises ( CEPME ) (1988 ), membre du Conseil economique et social et du Conseil national du crédit ( 1994-1995 ), et président de la Commission des opérations de bourse ( COB ) (1995 ).
De 1996 à 1998, Michel Prada occupe les fonctions de président du Comité exécutif de l’Organisation internationale des commissions de valeurs (OICV ) et de président du Comité technique ( Septembre 1998 to mai 2000; reconduit Octobre 2005).
Il a été le président du Conseil de l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Bordeaux et reçoit les titres de commandant de la Légion d’Honneur, de Grand Officier de l’Ordre National du Mérite et est également Chevalier des Ordre national des Arts et Lettres.
